Stolt Sea Farm recognised in digital innovation awards

Stolt Sea Farm is delighted that its digital forecasting project was a finalist in the enerTIC Awards, which recognise programmes that successfully incorporate sustainability, technology and innovation.

The enerTIC.org platform supports companies and industry stakeholders to adopt new technologies to improve the energy efficiency and sustainability of cities and industries, as well as energy and large technological infrastructure.

SSF’s ongoing project to digitalise its 14 aquaculture farms in Europe was a finalist in the Research, Development and Innovation for Sustainability category. The project, in partnership with Geprom, part of Telefónica Tech, includes the development of new digital tools and the adoption of artificial intelligence to help integrate, streamline and automate its operations. This will help further enhance SSF's services to customers, support continuous improvements in safety and help SSF reach its overall annual production target of 23,000 tonnes of turbot and sole by 2035.

IT Manager, Manuel Rey, said: “We are very pleased that our pioneering digitalisation project has been recognised at these awards. This reflects Stolt Sea Farm’s commitment to harnessing technology and innovation to continuously improve the efficiency and sustainability of our operations.”
