Stolt Sea Farm supports environmental-awareness event in Portugal

Stolt Sea Farm (SSF) is committed to supporting the communities in which we operate and, this summer, the company sponsored the Catraia community event in Tocha, Portugal where one of our farms is located.

Catraia is organised by the Associação de Moradores (residents’ association) in Praia da Tocha on the central western coast of Portugal. It is the main cultural event in the area during summer, attracting large numbers of visitors over three days.

"Walking à catraia is a local fishing term for the act of walking along the seashore in search of materials that can be reused,” explains Carlos Cruz Alexandre, SSF’s Country Manager for Portugal. “In the same way, the Catraia festival aims to increase environmental awareness – in particular the waste we produce – through art, music and workshops for people of all ages.

“SSF was proud to sponsor and take part in such a community-focused event with an important sustainability message, which complements our own commitment to caring for our planet, people and local communities.”
