Stolt Sea Farm named Company of the Year by College of Biologists in Galicia

Stolt Sea Farm (SSF) is delighted to be named Company of the Year by the Official College of Biologists in Galicia, Spain (Colexio Oficial de Biólogos de Galicia or COBGA).

COBGA’s Company of the Year award recognises companies that invest in biological research and development, are committed to sustainable production processes and animal welfare, and support the work and expertise of biologists.

The award was presented to Jordi Trias (pictured above right), President of Stolt Sea Farm on Friday, May 12 – which is also the college’s dedicated day of the biologist – by Jose Antonio Fernandez Bouzas (pictured above left), Dean of COBGA at a ceremony near Santiago de Compostela, Spain.

Jordi Trias said: “I want to thank the Colexio Oficial de Biólogos for selecting us as Company of the Year. We are absolutely delighted with this recognition of our work by experts in the field of biology. For more than 50 years, Stolt Sea Farm has been an innovator and leader in the development of sustainable, environmentally friendly aquaculture.

“Our dedicated team of scientists works closely with our expert operations teams to closely manage and continuously enhance our breeding, feeding and fish welfare processes, and produce our award-winning turbot and sole that is enjoyed in more than 30 markets around the world.”

Stolt Sea Farm's taste, quality and environmental certifications include a Superior Taste Award from the International Taste Institute for its fresh turbot, ISO 9001 for quality management and ISO 14001 for environmental management, and GLOBALG.A.P. and International Featured Standards accreditations for food production.

COBGA is a non-profit institute, which works to maintain the ethical and professional standards of the biology profession in Galicia, provide support and career development opportunities to its members and promote biological endeavours within the Galician community.
